Cake stand with metal candle holder and a tin box

Me and my mania for recycling everything I find. For this cake stand I used a metal candle holder and a tin box, one of those that used to contain those delicious English biscuits so "buttery" that you get fat just naming them. I painted everything milk-white and with the image transfer I made the writing in stencil characters for a vintage touch.

Io e la mia mania di riciclare tutto quello che trovo. Per questa alzatina ho utilizzato un porta-candela di metallo ed una scatola di latta di quelle che contenevano quei buonissimi biscotti inglesi tanto "burrosi" che ti ingrassi solo a nominarli. Ho dipinto tutto bianco latte e con il trasferimento d'immagine ho realizzato la scritta a caratteri stencil per un tocco vintage.

Lost among vintage porcelain and ceramics. 

All plates after surviving the drill bit are transformed into romantic and precious cake stands with 2 or 3 tiers matched by colour, size and floral pattern.

Tutti i piatti dopo essere sopravvissuti alla punta del trapano eccoli trasformati in romantici e preziosi supporti per torte a 2 o 3 livelli abbinati per colore, misura e motivo floreale.

   

 

Small centrepiece made from a vintage Chinese plate

Small centrepiece made from a vintage Chinese plate, hand-painted. The coral-coloured frame and the gold embossed outlines of the designs are beautiful. The knob is made of bronzed wood with an enamelled bead in the centre in the same colour as the plate frame.

Piccolo centrotavola realizzato con un piatto cinese vintage, hand-painted. Bellissima la cornice color corallo ed i contorni dei disegni in oro a rilievo. Il pomello è in legno bronzato con al centro una perlina smaltata dello stesso colore della cornice del piatto.

China porcelain fruit bowl or centrepiece

 Alone, without a smaller companion with which I could have made a cake stsand if only I had found it. Difficult to match with other floral motifs because of the strong colours and especially the black background, rare for a porcelain dish. The manufacture is Chinese, obviously hand painted. What am I doing with it, I asked myself?

Here it is, a very special and elegant fruit bowl or centrepiece, with a matching knob in lacquered wood.

Solo solo, senza un compagnuccio più piccolo con il quale avrei potuto realizzare un'alzatina se solo l'avessi trovato. Difficile da abbinare con altri motivi floreali per le tonalità forti dei colori e soprattutto il fondo nero, raro per un piatto di porcellana. La manifattura è cinese, ovviamente "hand painted". Che ci faccio mi sono chiesta?

Eccolo, un particolarissimo ed elegante portafrutta o centrotavola, con pomello abbinato in legno laccato.
