Garbatella (Rome) just like Hollywood

To Garbatella... mon amour:

Rome is not only the Colosseum, the Forum, the Vatican, or the great museums. Rome is made up of neighborhoods that, if they have nothing to tourism in the traditional sense of the term, are real villages that sometimes appear to be separated from rest of the city. Besides Rome has little of the metropolis: it looks like a cluster of many small towns converged but each quite distinct, and it is perhaps this that makes it special and fascinating as a few other big cities around the world.
One of the most charming districts of Rome, is the Garbatella

Founded in the '20s, this neighborhood dominates the hill on which it was built, the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. The Garbatella is a neighborhood that deserves to be walked without a particular objective: there must enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and almost suspended in the midst of buildings that seem to come from a village invented, at least in its oldest part, is characterized by houses yellow or red, to a maximum of three floors, with streets that wind and suddenly put us in front of the taller skyscrapers curved lines, concave or convex, with arches and columns.
And yet, gardens, stairs and up and down the streets. The Garbatella district is a unique, in which hangs an air almost of mystery, and those who visit Rome without seeing it loses an important piece.
The Garbatella is a set beloved by filmmakers and television. In fact, there are many TV series and films set in the neighborhood.

Garbatella just like Hollywood:

- The film "Toto e Marcellino" in 1958 by Antonio Musu with Toto and Pablito Calvo already famous child-actor starred in Vaida "Marcelino pane e vino" in 1955, with several scenes filmed in the Scuola dei Bimbi, where years later came Marco Columbro with his "Caro Maestro" (Dear Master)!
- The film "We had so much loved" in 1974 by Ettore Scola with Nino Manfredi, Vittorio Gassman, Stefano Satta Flores, Stefania Sandrelli (vigil in front of the school Cesare Battisti, ... tha many people only remind for the most recent "Cesaroni"!)
- In addition, the palace of the Lazio Region has been the set of some movie series Fantozzi, so it is also called "The Palace of Fantozzi"

Garbatella come Hollywood:
